Number 1. Draughtsman's Panic The Objective here is to determine the side elevation of a technical drawing that has all visible and hidden lines drawn
Number 2) A Serious Series Try finding the next number in the following series.. 110...20...12...11...10...???
Number 3) The Classical Unequal Weights Problem You may have heard of this one A. You have 12 identical balls and a balance for weighing B. One of the balls weighs more or less than the other eleven balls. C. In a minimum number of weighings you must determine which ball is different and whether it is lighter or heavier than the rest. How many weighings and what is the procedure?
Number 4) A Logic Brainteaser Three Candidates apply for a Job as a Nuclear Physicist. Needless to say that all are PhDs in this field. To choose between them their future supervisor poses a problem. The first to answer giving the right reasons will be chosen for the job. The three candidates are seated in a room where they can see each other. Each is wearing a cap which has been randomly selected from a set of five. Each candidate can see the cap of the other two, but does not know the colour of his own cap. There are known to be 5 caps. Two (2) of the caps are black and three (3) are white. The winning candidate can see that the other two are both wearing white caps. What is the colour of the cap of the winning candidate, and how did he deduce its colour? Five) Truth & Lie Logic The Classic Problem of Truth and Lie situations. Typically you need to escape from a prison that has two doors (lets say Door A and B). Each door is manned by a guard (Guard A and B), one whom is known to be total liar, but you are not sure which one. They take pity on you and tell you that one door leads to freedom while the other to certain death, and they allow you to ask one question before choosing a door to determine your fate. What question do you ask to which guard?
Six) Shunting Wagons Two Wagons (A & B) and an Engine are parked on a track layout as below:
The wagons A & B are both 10 M long. The Engine is 15M long and doesnot fit in the 10M section on the right. The Engine can push and pull either way. The problem is to switch A with B and return the Engine to the top left. |
